The Boyle County football team was the center of attention at its annual Meet the Rebels season kickoff event, but the football players weren’t the only ones in the spotlight Sunday at Rebel Stadium.
Boyle County Middle School and Boyle County Youth Football players were also recognized at the event, as well as Boyle cheerleaders, dance team members and band members.
Boyle football players led a series of drills for the young players and there were other games and contests for youngsters, and fans of all ages turned their attention to the coming season.
Local teams will hold their final preseason scrimmages this week. Danville opens its season Aug. 23 against East Jessamine at West Jessamine, while Boyle begins Aug. 24 against Lexington Christian at Western Kentucky University.
