Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care. Clarissa Stewart, R.N., a nurse in the Progressive Care Unit, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Lincoln County, Clarissa has been caring for patients at EMRMC for one year.
She was nominated by a patient’s family member who said, “I would like to nominate Clarissa for a Daisy Award. She was amazing. My aunt’s health took a turn for the worse while we were there and she was the most loving compassionate nurse I have ever been in contact with. Not only did she treat my aunt with respect and dignity, she cared and loved my family while we were hurting. We had her as a nurse four days in a row and not only remembered but called us each by name and made sure my aunt was comfortable and needed for nothing while she was there. She also took great care of the family who was at bedside. Nurses like Clarissa are what make health care special, she truly found her calling in life and EMRMC is lucky to have her.”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day. Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and other Ephraim McDowell facilities.
