Leaf collection underway in Danville

The City of Danville began the Annual Leaf Collection this week, providing an easy method for residents to dispose of leaves during the fall season. The city also put out a number of recommendations for residents to follow so the process can proceed smoothly.

What You Should Do:

• Pile leaves between the curb and sidewalk. If you have limited space, you can put leaves in your yard right next to the sidewalk.
• Leaves must be out for pickup by your collection day. Leaves that are road-ready will be collected but inclement weather or mechanical issues may delay collection.

What You Should Avoid:
Examples include, but are not limited to, 

• Do not restrain driveways with piles of leaves
• Do not put leaves in drainage ditches, or on the street.
• Do not bag leaves or mix with limbs, materials from the yard will not be picked up.
