Danville’s Franklin Masonic Lodge will have a country breakfast 7-10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the lodge hall, 400 North Fourth St.
The menu includes pork tenderloin, country ham, sausage, bacon, pancakes, eggs, potatoes, biscuits, gravy, coffee, orange juice and pastries.
Everyone is welcome.
Public invited to garden club event
The public is invited to a featured program at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7, at the Danville Country Club, when the Garden Club of Danville hosts the Bluegrass District meeting of Central Kentucky Garden Clubs.
Linda Hawkins will discuss her award-winning book “The Unspoken Language of Fans and Flowers.” A life-long love of flowers inspired her to research this old fashioned means of communication, when sentiments were expressed by the position of a lady’s fan or the use, color, or arrangement of flowers.
In her book, Hawkins also shares floral-inspired recipes and a guide to edible flowers. Copies of the book and others she has written will be available by special order.
Vendors will be selling plants and garden-related gifts. Public admission is $10; reservations are not required. For additional information, email garden.club.dky@gmail.org.
