An 11-year-old riding a bicycle was hit by an SUV about 5:45 Wednesday on North Hill-N-Dale in Danville.

The Danville Police Department reports witnesses saw the child, name not released, ride across the road into the line of traffic, colliding with a 2014 Kia SUV, driven by Taryn Yeast, 27 of Danville.

Yeast was traveling southbound on North Hill-N-Dale when the crash occurred.

The child was treated on the scene by the Boyle County EMS, before being transported to the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center for treatment. The extent of his injuries are unknown, but the child’s mother was on the scene, according to police.

Officer Paul MeGilligan with the Danville Police Department is investigating.
