1944-2017
Preston “Ray” Floyd, 73 of Stanford, Kentucky died early Sunday morning, June 4, 2017, at his home. Ray was the husband of Phyllis Taylor Floyd whom he married November 23, 1964. Ray was born March 17, 1944, in Stanford, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Clinton and Hattie C. Hasty Floyd. Ray was a Deacon of the Blue Lick Baptist Church. He was a retired Game Warden and Captain for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Survivors Include:wife of 52 years, Phyllis Taylor Floyd; a daughter, Tawanna and husband, Scott Manz; three grandchildren, Brandon and wife, Cashawnda Denton, Clinton and wife Haley Hall, and Ciera “C.C. Taylor Hall; three great grandchildren, Easton, Cullen and Holly; two brothers: Jimmy and Wife Deanna Floyd, and Frank and Wife Sarah Floyd: three special nephews, Timmy and Mark Young and Richard Floyd; and two special brothers, John Hasty and Seth Underwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Raevonna Floyd Hall Poynter.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Blue Lick Baptist Church in Stanford, Kentucky by Bro. Chester Cornett and Bro. Wayne Stevens. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Blue Lick Baptist Church. Pallbearers Include George “Chip” McInnis, David Thurman, Buck Goode, Larry Hagan, Eric Taylor and Jeremy Mullins
