The Boyle County Public Library offers many fun, educational events throughout the year. Weekly programs include a Summer Coding Club 4 p.m. Mondays, Crafters Who Care 6 p.m. Mondays, and Storytimes on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. In addition to these weekly events, the following Library-sponsored programs are scheduled for this week:

• Tween Book Club

The library offers a monthly book club for tweens (ages 9-13). On Monday, June 5, at 2 p.m., the group will discuss “Eli the Good” by Silas House. Snacks will be available. Any tweens interested in attending may register for the program by signing up in the Children’s Library.

• Summer Coding: Web Design Class

This summer, Lucy Minichillo and Christine Shannon will offer a web design class using CodeHS for students in grades 6-12. No experience is necessary. The class will be held 4-5:30 p.m. Mondays in the Computer Lab at the library beginning Monday, June 5, and running through the end of July.

The class is open enrollment which allows participants to enroll at any time throughout the summer! (Students must have a library card with internet approval, and have access to an email account.) To register, email Lucy or Christine at danville.code@gmail.com, or stop by the library to pick up a registration form.

• Puppy Visit & Family Craft

At 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, the library will host the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society, who will be bringing puppies to the library. Visit with the puppies then make a toy for an animal at the shelter at the toy making station. All ages are invited to participate.

• Coloring and Conversation

The library will host a coloring club for adults 6 p.m. Thursday, June 8. Many adults have rediscovered the joys of coloring as a way to relax and combat stress. The club, which is done in partnership with the Boyle County Cooperative Extension office, meets on the second Monday of the month in the Mahan Gallery. Anyone who attends this month will receive a free set of coloring pencils to take home.

• Teen Crafternoon: 3-D Hot Glue Art

Teen Crafternoon will be held 1 p.m. Friday, June 9. Led by Julia Basil, this monthly program features a different artistic craft or activity each month. In June, we’ll be making 3-D objects with hot glue. This free event will be held in the Mahan Gallery and is open to all teens (ages 13-18). Call the library to register.

• Gallery Hop Stop and David Farmer Artist Reception

The library will host a Gallery Hop Stop 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 9. As part of this event, the library will be hosting an artist reception for David Farmer, whose work will be on display in the Mahan Gallery through the end of June.

• Computer Classes

In the ongoing effort to promote lifelong learning, the library offers a wide variety of free computer classes every month. The following classes are scheduled for this week:

Internet Basics 11 a.m. Monday, June 5

Pinterest 2 p.m. Monday, June 5
