James “Nick” Nichols

1955-2017

James “Nick” Nichols, 61, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Beth Angela Babel Nichols, died Saturday, June 17, 2017, at his home. Born December 18, 1955, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Joe Ray and Betty Gene Wilkerson Nichols.

He was a former firefighter, dispatcher and water department employee for the city of Danville for thirty years. He enjoyed outdoor activities, construction and poker and was a mixed martial arts competitor.

Nick was a member of the Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church where he served on the Property Committee. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran and member of the Red Knights Firefighters Motorcycle Club. 

Other survivors include one daughter, Jayme (Brandon) Sallee of Georgetown, KY; and four sons, Bryant (Megan) Nichols of Junction City, Vess Nichols, Fletcher Nichols, and Darius Nichols all of Harrodsburg, KY; one brother, Joseph P. Nichols of Orlando, FL; and sister-in-law, Gillie Nichols; he also has eight grandchildren, Lillie, Levi, Carter, Izaac, Jaxson, Elijah, Kimberlynn and Monicka. He was predeceased by a brother Michael Nichols.

Funeral services 12 PM, June 24, 2017, at the Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Friday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, and at the church after 9 AM Saturday.
