Robert Thomas Stovall
1950 – 2017
Bob Stovall, 67 of Danville KY passed away unexpectedly Friday July 21. He was born April 6, 1950 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Rufus Reaves Stovall and Mary Ellen Stovall.
Bob founded Orange Cat Productions, a website design and marketing development company that just celebrated 21 years in business. Bob enjoyed explaining the origin of naming the company after their beloved orange tabby cat. Bob loved the Danville community and diligently served as an Ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce where he was awarded the Ambassador of the Year award in 2014.
He was also passionate about BBQ and was one of the founders of the Kentucky State BBQ Festival, a non-profit charitable organization, where he served as a volunteer and on the board of directors. He was quoted often saying “ I never met a rib I didn’t like!”
Being a loving and devoted husband and friend, he was a kind, compassionate and a giving individual willing to help anyone at anytime. Bob had an amazing, witty sense of humor and always greeted everyone with a warm smile and a huge hug.
Bob is survived by his wife, and love of his life of 35 years, Maureen Loar of Danville KY, and his brother Don Stovall of Metuchen, New Jersey. Bob was deeply loved by Don’s children: Dana, Nicole, Brittany, Allison and their children: Jayden, Olivia, Brynn and Dominick of Metuchen, New Jersey.
Bob is survived by his in-laws, Danny and Dotty Loar of Louisiana, Eileen Van Dyke, and Rosemary Loar of New Jersey, Theresa Loar and Rich Bonsignore of Maryland, Loretta and John Barksdale of New York, and 11 nephews and three nieces (Chris, Brain, Michael, Patrick, Butch, Johnny B, Moses, Aaron, Elijah, Josh, Isaiah, and Jenny, Jill, and Tina) who loved him as much as we all did.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration Of Life ceremony will be held in Kentucky and in New Jersey, and dates for each will be forthcoming.
In lieu of flowers, a Go Fund Me page has been set up to help provide immediate financial assistance for his unexpected passing, 100 percent of proceeds will go directly to Bob’s family to cover these expenses.
