About 35 pastors and church leaders attended a Lunch and Learn on Treatment, Counseling and Recovery Resources held at Calvary Baptist Church on Tuesday.
This was the first of the quarterly events hosted by the Hope Network and the Boyle County Agency for Substance Abuse Policy aimed at breaking the stigma and educating the leaders on how to help those battling addictions and their families.
Speakers were Liz Cook, of Cook Counseling Therapy, LLC.; and Mike Cox, the president of Isaiah House.
Future events will be held at various churches in the area and will focus on topics such as suicide, dealing with loss related to drug abuse, and more. To learn more, email kathy.miles@centre.edu.
