THEATER

Babe Dean and the Great Eclipse,  Aug.  25-27 at West T. Hill Community Theatre, 117 Larrimore Lane, Danville. Danville Celebrates  with World Premiere of a comedy written by local playwright Elizabeth Orndorff. WTH travels back to Random, Kentucky, once again get involved in the faux hillbilly antics of Babe Dean and her friends. This time they are trying to make money off the eclipse. Returning stars from the past Hollerwood chronicles include Karen Logue, Allen Martin and Dale Kihlman trying to understand what the heck an eclipse is and how much money can be had. AUDITION 

The Orphan Train, 2:30 p.m. Sept. 10 and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at West T. Hill Community Theatre, 117 Larrimore Lane, Danville. An original musical by Elizabeth Orndorff and Scott Brown, this touching and very Christmassy play is based on the true stories of the Orphan Trains that traveled all over the country in the 1900s attempting to match hopeful parents with needy orphans.  It is a perfect piece for holiday fare.  The music is both beautiful and haunting. Roles are available for six men, six women and 12 children. Production dates will be  December 1-3, 8-10 and 15-17.

Iconic Walker, who skyrocketed to comedic fame in the ‘70s on the TV hit show, “Good Times,” will appear for a 3-night comedy weekend. Comedian Shawn Reynolds will open all three nights.
