Free expungement information session

There will be a free information event for people who want to know if they are eligible to clear something from their criminal record but can’t afford an attorney at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14 at New Birth Temple of Deliverance Ministries, 2760 Perryville Road, Danville. The agenda includes a discussion of Kentucky expungement law for felonies, misdemeanors, acquittals, dismissals and pardons and who is eligible to get an expungement. Speakers will be Damon Preston, Deputy Public Advocate and Melanie Foote, DPA Education Branch attorney, both from Frankfort; and Lexington criminal defense attorney Brad Clark who launched the app Unconvicted that helps gather the user’s information needed to determine if he or she is eligible for expungement. This will be followed by a question and answer session and an individual discussion with an attorney from the Department of Public Advocacy. There will also be educational opportunites in the fellowship hall hosted by Kentucky State University and University of Campbellsville.

Medicare seminar planned

STANFORD — The Lincoln County Public Library is hosting an interactive education seminar, Medicare Made Clear, that will explain Medicare basics at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28. At the end of the presentation, you will have an understanding of Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D, who is eligible, coverage options, enrollment times, and what to do next.
