A Danville man was killed after a single-vehicle wreck Sunday morning on Ky. 34, about a half-mile from the Danville city limits.
“Davis Don Harper, 26, of Waterworks Road (Danville) was the occupant. He was injured in the accident and transported to the (Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center),” said Mike Wilder, Boyle County deputy coroner and Danville-Boyle County Emergency Management director.
Wilder, who is also deputy coroner, pronounced him dead at 6:22 a.m. at the hospital.
Wilder said Harper was injured after he lost control of his Toyota passenger car at about 3 a.m., which went up an embankment and into a clump of trees.
It is unknown what caused the crash; it remains under investigation. Speed may have been a factor. Wilder said toxicology results, which are required by law in cases such as these, will take a few weeks.
