Henry is a precious 6-month-old classic tabby kitten. He was a stray but he has the most adorable personality. Friendly, cuddly, gregarious all describe Henry. He likes to greet you with a little “meow” and his big copper eyes will draw you in. Henry is a staff and volunteer favorite and he will be your favorite too if you come for a visit to meet this sweet little fellow.
Chloe is a beautiful 7-month-old hound/heeler mix. She was surrendered to the humane society because of landlord issues. Chloe is very friendly and outgoing. She seems to be very intelligent and walks well on the leash. She still has some pup in her and she will display joyful enthusiasm when attention comes her way. Chloe is sure to bring a lot of love into her new adoptive family.
October is Adopt-A-Shelter Dog month. This annual event encourages people to save lives and enhance their own by adopting a dog from a shelter or rescue group. At the DBCHS we have many beautiful and loving puppies and dogs that are waiting to find their perfect forever home. If you have been considering adding a canine member to your family, why not choose your next best friend during this special month.
If you’re not ready or able to adopt at this time but still would like to help the homeless animals, you can donate much needed cleaning supplies such as bleach, laundry detergent, Pine Sol, paper towels, hand soap and hand sanitizer. The humane society also needs blankets and towels to use as bedding for the animals especially as we go into the cooler months. Your gifts are always appreciated!
Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
