The Danville Police Department is seeking information regarding an early morning break-in at the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Thursday.
It was reported at 8:13 a.m. Thursday, according to the blotter from the Danville 911 Center, which is when employees reported for work, said Det. Kevin Peel from the Danville Police Department.
Peel is assisting Det. Lisa Dollins on the case.
“A few guys forced entry into the pharmacy,” Peel said. “They went in and took several bottles full of narcotics.”
An audit is still being performed by Good Neighbor Pharmacy, Peel said, but that it appears the burglars took cash and “a lot” of prescription medication.
“Several of the shelves and storage units were ransacked,” he said.
The thieves were caught on camera. Peel said they have spoken to other law enforcement agencies in the state, and it appears the burglars could be linked to multiple pharmacy burglaries in Kentucky. The agencies plan on comparing footage and information to see if there are similarities.
“Maybe they will have information, and we can come together and get info on these guys,” he said.
At the present moment, there are no images available to be released to the public, but Peel said those images will be released as soon as possible.
He said they are asking anyone who would have been in the area around 2:30 a.m., which is when they believe the crime was committed, to come forward.
“If you noticed anything, let us know,” Peel said.
