A Lincoln County toddler’s family had a scare Monday afternoon when the two-year-old boy walked away from his home on William Whitley Road around 1 p.m. He was found a few hours later.
He wandered away with his puppies, said Sheriff Curt Folger, and was found a few fields away from home.
“He’s been checked out by EMS and he’s okay,” Folger said.
The youngster was described in a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) alert across the emergency scanner as wearing a T-shirt and diaper.
Trooper Robert Purdy with the Kentucky State Police said his agency was called in when the young child wasn’t found quickly. A group search was conducted, then a KSP aircraft was called in.
“The KSP aircraft was able to come into the area and observed him from the air,” Purdy said. “It’s good news.”
Deputy Bill Hester was the first to the boy, Folger said, a little after 3 p.m.
