Elsie Sowder Tatem

1920-2017

Elsie Sowder Tatem, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, December 11th at Landmark of Lancaster. Born May 14, 1920 in Bell County, she was a daughter of the late Grant and Nancy Owens Sowder. She had been a homemaker and former employee of Stanhope Products & N.C.R. and a member of the Forks of Dix River Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Tatem, and a daughter, Pauline Honeyman.

Her survivors include a son, Terry (Ellen) Tatem of Nicholasville, stepdaughters, Geraldine Brown of Elmira, New York and Katheryn Wilson of Dayton, Ohio, a brother, Raymond Sowder of Erlanger, sisters, Marie Black of Lancaster and Hazel Cornett of London, as well as three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Lancaster Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may go to the Forks of Dix River Church. Ramsey-Young Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.www.ramsey-young.com
