Purcell joins Central Kentucky Ag Credit

Paul Purcell has joined Central Kentucky Ag Credit as a Loan Officer and has a rich background in lending and finance. Purcell brings over 13 years of experience in banking to the association.

Most recently, Purcell was chief finance officer for the Garrard County Board of Education. Prior to that, he was a commercial lender and vice president for Farmers National Bank of Danville, along with working in the Farmers National Bank’s Garrard branch as market manager.

Purcell is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a B.S. in finance and The Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.

His professional and community service is extensive. Purcell is currently a board member at Heritage Hospice and is a trustee at the Forks of Dix River Baptist Church. He is the past president of the Garrard County Chamber of Commerce, past board member of the Wilderness Trace Community Endowment Foundation, UK Extension District Board and Garrard Industrial Development Authority. Also, Purcell was the Garrard County chair for United Way Campaign Committee and a graduate of the Leadership Boyle County through the Boyle County Chamber of Commerce. Purcell has also served as volunteer/team leader for the GABBF Festival Market and a past ambassador of the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce.

A native of Garrard County, Purcell and his wife Dara have two children. The family lives on five acres in Garrard County and raises a variety of plants and livestock. They are members of the Forks of Dix River Baptist Church in Garrard County. The church is very active in international missions, giving Paul the opportunity to serve on mission trips to Japan, Haiti, El Salvador, and several locations within the United States.

Scott joins WealthSouth as operations manager

Cassie Scott has been named assistant vice president, operations manager of WealthSouth.

A native of Danville, Scott has 17 years of experience in the financial services industry. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Eastern Kentucky University, majoring in accounting.

It has locations in Danville, Lexington and Bowling Green. Danville native appointed executive vice president 

OXFORD, OHIO  — Delta Sigma Pi has announced the newest addition to the central office staff, Executive Vice President of the Leadership Foundation Tyler C. Wash. He will begin working at the central office Feb. 1.

Wash joins the team after a nine-year career with the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity, the last four as their foundation’s executive director. During his time as executive director, he helped with the creation and execution of the foundation’s first comprehensive strategic plan, which focused the foundation on alignment, relationships, engagement and communication. Also during his tenure, the foundation’s annual giving program grew steadily, reaching an all-time high and he helped launch major gift and planned giving programs, which created a dedicated focus to transformational giving. 

In addition to his service as the executive director, Wash also served as the editor-in-chief of the Laurel, Phi Kappa Tau’s magazine, which was recently redesigned for visual appearance and content direction. 

Wash is originally from Danville and a graduate of Georgetown College. He now lives in Oxford, Ohio with his wife Kellsey.

In his free time, Wash enjoys golfing and yard work. He also loves to travel with Kellsey. 

Ford Brothers win multiple awards at Kentucky Auctioneers Association Convention

SOMERSET — The Kentucky Auctioneers Association Annual Convention was held at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset Jan. 19-21, and Ford Brothers Auctioneers garnered multiple awards including:

Marketing — first place, best radio commercial; first place, best television commercial

Competition Awards — second place, bid calling contest professional division, Ben Allen; second place, bid calling contest apprentice division, James Barron; third place, bid calling contest apprentice division, Seth Hambree; first Annual Ringman Competition, second place, Danny Ford; and Kentucky Auctioneer Association Auctioneer for the Year, Sam Ford. 

Ford Brothers Auctioneers has been locally owned and operated since 1965 and have offices in Somerset, London, Mt. Vernon and Richmond. 

Baird named controller at Farmers National Bank

Katie Minor Baird has been named vice president, controller of Farmers National Bank.

A Danville native, Baird has 14 years of experience in the financial services and accounting industries. She holds degrees in accounting as well as business administration from the University of Kentucky.

She is married to Josh Baird and they have a son, 8-month old John Walker Baird.
