Mary Jo Jones

1930-2018

Mary Jo Jones, 87, widow of William Elliott Jones, died on Jan. 28, 2018. 

A resident of Danville, Ky., she was born on Sept. 4, 1930, in Lexington, Ky., and was the daughter of the late Ollie B. Bishop and Sallie Champion Bishop. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Elliott Jones; and a daughter, Jo Ellen Jones Grigsby. 

She is survived by a loving son-in-law and loving nieces, nephews and many friends. Mrs. Jones was a graduate of Lafayette High School and the University of Kentucky where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and Phi Beta Kappa. She received a Master of Arts degree and was a Fellow of the University of Kentucky. She was formerly a member of the Presbyterian Church of Danville and served as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church USA. 

A graveside service will be private on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 in the Lexington Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
