More than 500 people turned out at the Community Arts Center on Friday night for the opening reception of the 2018 Student Showcase. This annual exhibit is a collaboration between the Arts Center, the Arts Commission of Danville/Boyle County and schools throughout the county. The Arts Commission coordinates the Youth Art Fair — located on the second floor of the building — which features artwork by students at the Kentucky School for the Deaf, Danville Christian Academy, Sunrise Children’s Services, Danville High School, Boyle County middle and high schools, John W. Bate Middle School, Jennie Rogers, Toliver, Hogsett, Perryville, Junction City and Woodlawn elementaries, and area homeschool students. The Grand Hall gallery displays artwork by Centre College students.
