LANCASTER — A Junction City man died Sunday as a result of a motorcycle accident in Garrard County.
Justin Bryan Spears, 27, was riding a motorcycle on U.S. 27 near the Garrard and Lincoln County line just after 2 p.m. when the driver of an SUV pulled out of the County Line Flea Market parking lot heading south, according to Garrard County Deputy Coroner Amy Allen.
According to Kentucky State Police, the initial investigation indicates that Archie Cobb, 79, was turning left from the parking lot and drove into the path of the motorcycle; the vehicles collided in the southbound lane. As a result, Sparks was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Kentucky State Police Trooper David Hobbs.
Allen said no arrests had been made and no one in the SUV was injured.
