Michael Strysick is an excellent choice for the Danville Independent School District. He has two children in the DISD which makes him dedicated to the success of our schools.
Michael is a thoughtful leader who has been anchored in our community through his work with the Brass Band board as president, the Danville-Boyle County Convention and Visitors Bureau board as treasurer and as his role as a senior administrator at Centre College.
He is also anchored in our schools as a dedicated parent. I have had the privilege of working side by side with him at numerous sporting events, the EG Plummer races, track and field, and other PTO sponsored events. Also, I served with him on The J.W. Bate Middle School SBDM Council. In my role as PTO president, our board entrusted Michael with the responsibility to represent parents on the recent superintendent search committee. We knew that he would not be influenced by anyone, he would be someone who could bridge divides and make a tough and thoughtful recommendation.
He will serve the district well. He is a communicator who wants to share ideas and involve stakeholders. He believes we as a learning community are better if we are working together. He is someone who has community connections and they can be used to help build more community resources and build bridges that will enhance our schools.
So, when we are all anchored together, community, schools, teachers, and parents we will truly be #bettertogether. So vote Michael Strysick on Nov. 6 for Danville school board.
