Dean for Boyle County attorney

I write today to express my enthusiastic support for the Honorable Lynne Dean to remain the Boyle County attorney. As most of you know, that office has been occupied for a very long time by people of tremendous stature and character, my father being one of them. He was followed by Richard Campbell, his first assistant county attorney from the 1970s, who faithfully fulfilled the duties of the office for 15 years. When Richard retired, Dad was very gratified to see Lynne appointed, regardless of gender, as the person best suited to the job. Dad was honored to be asked to participate as she signed the documents to then run for his old office.
It does go without saying that he, along with my mother, were greatly pleased that a woman with such keen intellect and compassion would be taking the reins of the office they loved so much. I grew up in and around that office and know well the stresses and the joys that come with representing the county both in prosecuting, but also in the important business of the county and the fiscal court. I don’t know if others fully appreciate what a broad spectrum of responsibilities this job entails, but he was quite satisfied that the office was in good hands. He still is.
Over the last 10 years, I have become to know Ms. Dean both personally and professionally as someone who is caring, compassionate and fair, but firm in her judgment. I can think of no one more qualified to now fill what I consider to be a very hallowed role and I am honored to endorse her campaign.
