During Wednesday’s city/county luncheon at VFW Post 3634 on Stanford Road, $250 was donated to each of the Christmas toy and shop with a cop programs by the VFW and its auxiliary. Receiving the checks are, from left, Senior Vice Commander Paul Poland, Deputy Chief Brumfield from Danville FD, Sheriff Derek Robbins, and Lisa Allen and Sandy Medley with the VFW Auxiliary. The city/county luncheon has been held for employees for years. About 125 employees attended from both the city and county to take in a full lunch of ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans etc. plus deserts.
