1950-2019
Delmar Ray Wilson, 69, of Junction City, passed away February 27, 2019. He was born on January 8, 1950, to the late Mark Wilson and Beulah Belcher. Delmar worked with heavy equipment and in excavation for many years. He loved his family and friends immensely. He always had a smile and a soft spot for anyone in need-especially children. The Garden Club was his joy for the last several years. The only thing he might have enjoyed more than music and dancing was discussing politics with his coffee-drinking buddies at Hardees or Shell.
Delmar is survived by two sons, Obie Wilson (Carissa) of Junction City and Patrick Wilson (Chasity) of Junction City; four daughters, Sonya Padgett (Earl) of Waynesburg, Tracy Howard (John) of Stanford, Angela Wilson (David) of Danville and Makada Maples of Moreland; one brother, Bob Wilson of Junction City; four sisters, Ernestine Gorley of Junction City, Jodie Dismuke of Junction City, Ava Price of Junction City and Connie Overstreet of Danville; 14 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren; and a significant other, Dorothy Hair.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Daisy Waddell, Barbara Mattingly, Beatrice Hafley, Crystal King and Charlotte Stephens.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Weldon. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019.
Pallbearers will be Obie Wilson, Taylor Wilson, Riley Wilson, Kyle Howard, Cameron Smith, Christopher Smith, Christopher Burchfield and Zachary Taylor. www.preston-pruitt.com
