Easter egg hunt

Freedom Baptist Church, 3505 U.S. 27 North, will hold an Easter egg hunt starting at noon on Saturday, April 13. A free hotdog lunch will also be offered, with the hunt to follow. Everyone is welcome.

Yard sale

God’s Hometown Church will hold a yard sale Saturday, April 6 starting at 9 a.m. The church is located at 4565 Hustonville Road (corner of old Hustonville Road and Shelby Street). All proceeds go to the church.

April Caring Friends fellowship

The monthly Caring Friends Fellowship Meal and Meeting will be held Sunday, April 14 at Perryville Baptist Church in the fellowship hall at 202 S. Bragg St, Perryville. Serving of the meal will begin at 12:30 p.m. The PBC Praise Team will provide music and give their testimony. They will lead us in a time of preparing our hearts to celebrate Easter.  Plan now to join us for a great meal and an inspirational time of worship together. Please invite your widowed friends and neighbors. RSVP to Angie Deering at (859) 516-1618 to let her know if you will be attending. This will be a great help to the ladies of PBC in planning for the meal. Our meeting will end by 2:30 p.m.

Area Baptists to meet

Area Baptists from South District Baptist Association will meet Monday, April 8 for a time of inspiration, information sharing  and fellowship. South District represents churches in Boyle County and parts of Garrard, Marion, Washington and Casey Counties with a total membership of over 9,000 members.

The meeting will be at First Baptist Church on the Danville ByPass beginning at 6:45 p.m. A meal will be served immediately prior to the meeting at 6 p.m.

Major speaker for the meeting will be Rev. Doug Davis of the Church Outreach Team of Campbellsville University. Rev. Davis is the former Pastor of Perryille Baptist Church as well as a former moderator of South District Baptist Association. He has  also served as pastor of a church in Macon, Georgia and a church in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He is married to his wife, Sharon, and they have an adult daughter.

Moderator for the association is Rev. Monty Carney, retired Pastor of Southern  Heights Baptist Church, Danville. The associate moderator is Rev. Junior Fields, pastor of the Pleasant Run Baptist Church in Parksville. Director of Missions is Rev.  Jim Clontz, Ph.D. of Danville.
