Cleaning Constitution Square

Dozens of community volunteers spent their Friday afternoon sprucing up one of Boyle County’s historic treasures, Constitution Square Park.
The annual Love Your Park Day was organized by the Convention and Visitors Bureau. Volunteers mulched trees, cleaned and swept the historical cabins and weeded the landscaping, among other chores.
Volunteers represented the Danville Garden Club, Cooperative Extension Office, the local jail, fiscal court, Chamber of Commerce, Heart of Danville, Shepherd’s House and others. Melton’s Deli donated food for the volunteers.
Constitution Square is the location where Kentucky’s first constitution was drafted. In 2017, it hosted the kickoff party for the state’s 225th birthday.
The Boyle County Farmers Market will be open Saturdays in the park this summer. It has a soft opening in the park today, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
