DBCHS Pets of the week, May 8
Published 6:48 pm Tuesday, May 7, 2019
Our featured pets this week are Charlie and Logan.
Charlie is a handsome orange tabby that was surrendered to the humane society due to his owner’s declining health. Charlie is 10-years-young and is declawed so he needs an indoor home. Charlie is a loving fellow and will be happy accepting the role of “official lap kitty” in his new home. Charlie is quiet and low maintenance and he should be a good fit for most any family. He may have a few years under his belt, but he has lots of love to give if you are willing to open your heart and home to this sweet boy.
Logan is a gorgeous 10-month-old retriever mix. He has a lovely mahogany colored coat and weighs 50 lbs. Logan was adopted as a cute little puppy, but sadly his family found they didn’t have time for a dog and decided to surrender him to the humane society. Logan is a sweet boy with the energy level one would expect in a young dog. He knows some basic commands and would benefit from continued obedience training and consistent handling. Logan has so much potential and will make a beautiful and loyal companion in a loving forever home.
Kitten season is upon us. The humane society has received several litters of kittens just in the past week. These babies do much better in a foster home environment than in the shelter. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent for a momma cat and kittens or a litter of young kittens that are not quite old enough for adoption, please contact the humane society at (859) 238-1117 or dbchs@bellsouth.net for more information. The humane society also needs donations of Purina Kitten Chow and cat litter to help care for the influx of kittens. Your support is greatly appreciated!
Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
