Parasols come out for Bayou and Brass

Friday night’s cajun festivities were moved to Danville’s parking garage so rain couldn’t dampen the party, but the Brass Band Festival’s parasol parade went ahead as planned, just with real umbrellas this time
around.
The Great American Brass Band Festival continues Saturday and Sunday with more music, food and fun. Most events have alternative plans in case of bad weather.
Saturday at GABBF
• Run for the Brass — 8 a.m. at Millennium Park, held rain or shine; event will be canceled for lightning and heavy wind
• Yoga in the Park — 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Constitution Square Park; held inside at Plank on Main for rain.
• Bike in the Bluegrass — 8 a.m. at Danville Bike & Footwear; will be canceled for rain.
• Concerts at Weisiger Park — 8:30-11 a.m., will be delayed or canceled for heavy rain, wind and lightning.
• Danville Art Festival — 11 a.m.-8 p.m. (Saturday and Sunday) on Centre College campus; will close-down in case of inclement weather, following GABBF rain plan
• Main Street Parade — 11 a.m.; only delayed in case of strong rain, canceled in case of wind or lightning
• Concerts on Main Stage — noon-11 p.m. on Centre’s campus; moved indoors to Norton Center for the Arts and Cowan Dining Hall if rain plan enacted
• Great American Quilt Show — noon-5 p.m. at The Presbyterian Church of Danville
• Great American Picnic — 5-11 p.m. at Centre; held indoors at Norton and Cowan for rain plan
• Kids Fest (Saturday and Sunday) — canceled with rain, wind or lightning
• Festival Market & Food Village (Saturday and Sunday) — open with light rain and delayed in case of heavy rain, wind and lightning
Sunday at GABBF
• Concerts on the Main Stage — 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Centre; moved inside Norton Center for rain
• Community Ecumenical Church Service — 9:15-11 a.m. at Centre; will be moved to Norton Center for rain
• Great American Balloon Race — gates open 4 p.m. at Stuart Powell Air Field in Junction City
