Bessie Guinn Strom

1936-2019

Bessie Guinn Strom, 83, of Perryville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019 at her home.

She was born on June 1, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio to the late James A. and Sadie Upton Guinn. Bessie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Paul Strom. Bessie was a veterinarian assistant for many years until she retired. She loved to sew and make quilts, but most of all enjoyed life and deeply loved her family.

Bessie is survived by three nieces, Sharen Sue McGirr (Bruce) of Danville, Shelia McGirr Brewer (Paul) of Danville and Geneva McGirr Hogue (Steve) of Danville; two nephews, Tommy McGirr (Doris) of Danville and Larry McGirr of Danville; two step-granddaughters, Sarah Jurich and Malia Jurich; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, Paul, Bessie was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby, Sam and George Guinn; and one sister, Juanita McGirr.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Jessie officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Huffman, Paul Brewer, Larry McGirr, Kyle Huffman, Brian Huffman, Randall Porter and Butch Carmichel.
