County Judge-Executive Howard Hunt and St. Asaph Chapter of the DAR rang the Boyle County Courthouse bell in celebration of the Constitution, our founding document, that was signed on Sept. 17, 1787. It was exciting hearing church bells and the courthouse bell ringing out together as the town came together in a “We the People” moment. Judy Sieweke, regent, and Mary Jo Coomer, chair of the Constitution Week committee, arranged for local eighth-graders to have Pocket Constitutions to take home among other Constitution Week activities.
