1930-2019
Faye Sweeney Brown Ray, 88, of Lancaster, passed away November 7, 2019 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was born December 31, 1930 in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
Faye was survived by her loving husband, Collis Ray. She worked for Cowden Manufacturing Company for several years and retired from American Greeting Card Company in 1993, where she was the first female supervisor. Faye was a faithful member of the Maple Avenue Church of Christ since moving to Lancaster in 1950.
Surviving is her husband, Collis; granddaughter, Lindsey (Chad) Bingham and great granddaughter, Hope Bingham, who adored her and were her life; a stepdaughter, Judy (Dale) Smith of Boyle County; brothers, Beecher “Bud” (Ann), Don, Bobby (Barbara) and Roger (Matilda) Barron; and two sisters, Joyce Buis and Alice Leger, all of Pulaski County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Tressie Reynolds Barron; two brothers, Loren and Milton Barron, a daughter, Vicki Sweeney, and two husbands, Charles Sweeney and Arthur Brown.
Funeral services will be 1PM Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Maple Avenue Church of Christ with Minister Isaac Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg, Kentucky. Visitation will be Monday, November 11, 2019 from 5-8PM at the church. Pallbearers will be Brian Ray, Justin Statom, Tyler Spalding, Chad Bingham, Kevin Barron and Robbie Barron.
