Gregory Louis Stephen McGrath, 59, of Burgin, died Wednesday, May 20, 2020. He was born July 2, 1960 in Hamilton, Ohio, son of Betty Ann Fritsch McGrath and the late James Michael McGrath.
Greg was a 1979 graduate of Danville High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University. He grew up in Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was now a member of Shawnee Run Baptist Church. He served in the US Army and drove a Tank.
He was a music and karaoke DJ and loved to put on shows as the “Music Maniac”. He used to go to nursing homes and sing, just to cheer them up. He loved to spend time in Tennessee, especially Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville with his family. One of his favorite times with his family was to go camping and help his children in the “Catch A Rainbow Fishing Derby” at Wolf Creek Dam. He was a huge UK Basketball fan.
Greg was predeceased by his late wife, Lisa Caroline McGrath and two infant sons, Greg McGrath Jr. and Dalton James Earl McGrath.
In addition to his mother, Betty McGrath, Greg is survived by his children, Jason (Eliza Foley) McGrath, Lancaster, Hollie Nichole (Derrick) Brady, Burgin and Terri Elizabeth Rose McGrath, Somerset; two brothers, Michael (Lisa) McGrath, Danville and Gary William McGrath, College Station, Texas; three granddaughters, Makaelynn McGrath, and Lindsay and Laci Roark and the mothers of his children, Annette Ray of Lancaster and JoAnna Gardner of Somerset.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Father Anthony McLaughlin and Brother Ed Amundson will officiate.
