City and county government offices will be open for business beginning Monday, June 1. However, normal operating procedures will be changed to help keep the public and staff safe from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Danville City Hall
Customer service windows for Alcoholic Beverage Control, business license, code enforcement, bill payment and water department at city hall will be open for the elderly and vulnerable population from 8:30 to 10 a.m. weekdays. It will be open to the general public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
Danville-Boyle County Planning & Zoning and the Building Inspection department will also reopen on June 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Please contact (859) 238-1235 or visit https://www.boyleplanning.org/ for more information.
However, residents are encouraged to conduct their transactions by phone, online at danvilleky.gov, or use drop boxes for payments and other business-related activities, if possible.
If this can’t be done, customers are to enter city hall from the West Main Street entrance and exit on the east side of the building. Everyone must also wear a face mask inside city hall. Free masks will be provided to those who need one.
Only eight visitors at a time will be allowed within the lobby areas in order to maintain social distancing. Customers are also asked to follow the new signage posted in English and Spanish at the entrance and exits at city hall.
City Manager David Milliron wrote in a news release, “The health and safety of our community and employees is our top priority and we want to thank you for your cooperation in our efforts. All dates and information are subject to change at any time due to the information received. “
All city updates will be posted on the website and Facebook pages.

Boyle County Clerk’s office
The Boyle County Clerk’s office will be open beginning Monday, June 1.
Vehicle and vessel transfers are by appointment only, by calling the clerk’s office at (859) 238-1110.
Vehicle and vessel renewals will be processed on a first come, first serve basis with appointments taking priority.
Renewals can also still be paid by bringing your registration, insurance card and payment to the clerk’s drop-off box located at the Fourth Street entrance to the courthouse; mail in with insurance card; paying over the phone by calling (859) 238-1110; or by using the online portal at www.drive.ky.gov.
The clerk’s office will be issuing marriage licenses and notary certificates by appointment only.
Abstractors, title searchers and attorneys should call prior to arriving to make sure there is adequate space to accommodate them if they don’t have an appointment.
Land document recordings and delinquent tax payments will be taken on a first come first served basis, with appointments taking priority.
Appointments can be made by calling (859) 238-1112.
When entering the courthouse, notify the security guards if you have an appointment, or are there to record a deed, mortgage, will or other documents. Customers are asked to wear a mask and use the provided hand sanitizer that will be available prior to entering the office, and take their place in lines in the socially distanced marked areas.
Absentee voting at the courthouse will begin Monday, June 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Absentee voting can also be scheduled on Saturday June 13 and June 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
If you choose to vote on Election Day instead of by mail or absentee voting, there will only be two polling places open — Boyle County Fire Department Station 1 on Lebanon Road; and First Christian Church on Lexington Road. All ballots will not be precinct specific so voters can vote at either location.
Masks and hand sanitizer will be available, and places will be marked for people standing in lines, which are expected to be long.
County Clerk Trille Bottom wrote in an announcement, “Please understand that our normal procedures have changed drastically and we will work diligently to process your paperwork in a quick, efficient and polite manner. Your patience and understanding while in our office will be greatly appreciated.”
