I have been smiling for the last few days because I remember systemic racism that exists. 

I remember wondering why they had “colored” bathrooms at the Mercer County Fair. I remember the black jokes that have now been joined by Hispanic jokes. 

I realize that most humor comes from making fun of others for ego purposes but these were different and we all knew the difference. 

Sports can help us recognize our common humanity But not everybody plays sports.

Anyway, the reason I have been smiling is because I see as many white protesters as black ones. They have the unbridled lack of fear that gives me hope and the courage that I have been lacking. Thank you.
