Alan Baxter Edwards, 74, died May 22, 2021 in Danville, Kentucky. Born August 29, 1946 in Danville, he was the son of the late Charles “Jinx” Ward and Fannie Jean Edwards. Alan was a 1964 graduate of Boyle County High School, attended Eastern Kentucky University and served as a cook in the National Guard Army. He worked at Bank of Danville, then at Corning before working at Norfolk Southern. Alan owned Ace Recycling from 1990 – 2000. Alan enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping at the Fork. He loved spending time with his family playing rook, watching UK basketball and Pittsburg Steelers football, as well as reruns of MASH, Westerns, and Andy Griffith. In addition to his parents, Alan is predeceased by his brother Charles Davis Edwards.

He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Carolyn Sue Edwards; two daughters, Kimberly (Eric) Edwards Downey and Amy Kristen Davis both of Danville; two sons, Brian (Donna) Keith Walls of Danville and Jeffrey (Stephanie) Scott Walls of Somerset; a sister, Judith Amy Boyd of Danville; twelve grandchildren, Angelica (Rodney) Maddox, Breanna (Jordan) Walls, Lindsey Walls, Logan (Alyxsin) Walls, Aubrey Walls, Chloe Walls, Kaylee Walls, Jared Downey, Abigail Downey, Nathanael Alan Davis, Johnathan Seth Davis, Chase Lanham; and six great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Gage Smith, Wyatt Smith, Viola Walls, Ollee Smith, Brantley Walls and Marlee Walls.

Public visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Funeral service will be 1pm Friday, May 28, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City. Rev. Phillip Coffman will officiate. Pallbearers will be Brian Walls, Jeff Walls, Eric Downey, Seth Davis, Nate Davis, Frank Edwards, Lindsey Walls and Rodney Maddox. Honorary Pallbearers will be Darrell Bryant, Stanley Derochea, Billy Carey, Jeff Duggins, Danny Streavels and Jordan Smith. Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery.
