News release
Boyle County dog licenses are due to be renewed starting on July 1, per Ordinance 841.0 passed in 2004. All Boyle County dog owners are required to license their dogs. Also, proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination must be presented when licenses are purchased.
You may purchase licenses from the Boyle County Humane Society Monday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. or at the Boyle County Courthouse (Judge Executive Office) Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Checks and exact cash will be accepted.
License fees are:
• $5 for dogs that have been spayed/neutered; and $10 if they have not be altered.
• $30 for dwellings, now classified as Class B Kennels that have between four and 10 dogs, and; $50 for Class A Kennels that have more than 10 dogs.
For questions you may call the Boyle County Animal Control office at 859-238-1117; or Boyle County Fiscal Court at 859-238-1100.
Dogs must be registered because they are easily returned to owners if they ever get loose or lost, and; tags help identify that your dog is up to date on their rabies vaccinations.
