Gravity Diagnostics has opened a COVID-19 testing drive-thru site at the old Farmers Bank location off the bypass.
According to an Ephraim McDowell Health Facebook post on Tuesday, the state of Kentucky is helping EMH with testing for the Gravity Diagnoistics community.
Located at 224 Southtown Drive in Danville and open all days of the week from 7 a.m. to noon, this particular testing site will have a turnaround time within 24 hours, according to the Gravity Diagnostics website.
Testing is at no cost to the patient, complimentary of the state of Kentucky, according to the website.
The instructions for Gravity Diagnostics testing sites are to enter during operating hours, stop at the first tent to register, go to the second tent for collection of your sample, exit the testing site socially distanced and receive results via email. There is no appointment necessary.
The test is a self-administered swab while the patient remains in their car, as a professional instructs them through the process. If the patient is under the age of 18, they must be accompanied by an adult, who will fill out a consent form and provide assistance with the sample if needed.
Drive-thru testing happens with weather permitting. If subject to extreme weather, the location may not operate testing that day. Gravity Diagnotics’ Twitter account @GravityCLIALab will be updated if unable to operate, and they will also try to put a note on the landing page of their website.
