Sophomores Nancy Haddad (4th), Annabelle Tarter (15th), and Cailyn Godsey (19th) continued their great running from last season.
However, there were several girls running their very first high school meet, such as eighth-grader Aubrey White (21st), freshman Maggie Powell (29th), and freshman Laykin Gatton (31st). The girls came in third as a team with an overall score of 60.
Sophomore Max Germann placed 3rd. Following him came junior Baron Wiley (9th). Junior Wesley Allaham (25th) had a great race as well, along with sophomore Cannon Bostick (27th), who ran a personal best. Senior Alex Lockhart finished 52nd.

Coach John Anderson was proud of how the team ran.
“It was a difficult meet, but the whole team ran very well. I’m proud of the team for how we ran, we were very strong and looked really strong running. It was a hot day, but it looked like it didn’t bother us. Overall, it was a good starting point for the team,” he said.
The next race for the Cross Country team will be at Woodford County on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 11.
