Mary Jo Taylor Young, 76

Mary Jo Taylor Young, 76, wife of the late Edward T. “Whitey” Young and was formerly of Richmond, Kentucky died on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Born on January 11, 1946 she was the daughter of the late Haskue Taylor and Daisy Durbin Prewitt. She was a retired Private Duty Nurse and was a member of the Church of God. Mary Jo was an avid Bingo Player and Fisherman, she was musically gifted and sang in her church choir and in a Gospel Group.

She is preceded in death by her husband Edward T. “Whitey” Young. Survivors include two sons, Brian Young (Stephanie) of Lancaster, KY and Pete Young (Lisa) of Richmond, KY; two daughters, Sheila Frazer (Tim) of Midway, KY and Lisa Laird (Rick) of Richmond, KY; 10 grandchildren, Sarah Monroe, Amanda Murray, Jon Dotson, Todd Young, Megan Laird Reynolds, Brian Tyler Young, Jeffrey Young, Nathan Young, Alex Young and Bella Young; six great-grandchildren, Camden Sanders, Lexi Jo Monroe, Alli Beth Dotson, Audrey Marie Dotson, Hadley Murray and Bennett Murray; two brothers, Robert D. Taylor and Glenn H. Taylor. She was also preceded in death by one son, Edward L. Young and siblings, Joyce Mullins, Gleah Willoughby and Harold L. Taylor.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Mary Jo on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at the Arlington Country Club’s Mule Barn from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with food provided.

The Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home is conducting services for the family.
