Our featured pets this week are Jade and Silence.

Jade is a confident, relaxed, and happy mixed-breed one-year-old who is what we call a rockstar in doggie playgroups, able to handle almost anything that comes her way. She gladly tolerated bigger, more energetic dogs as they raced around her in the yard and gently corrected them when they got too sassy. Whoever makes Jade a part of their family will be rewarded with a balanced, friendly, and fantastic friend for life!

Silence is about a year old, and he had a great time in playgroups, too!  He did well with other upbeat pups and made a new best friend in Sarah as they chased each other around the yard. Silence will do well in any home as long as he has a chance to play and run regularly. He’s loving, handsome, and sweet, ready to greet everyone he meets with a smile in exchange for a snuggle.

Both dogs are fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped. April 23 is National Lost Dog Day. A majority of wandering pets are within four blocks of home; you’ll often find where they belong by asking neighbors if they recognize the animal. If it’s possible to safely transport the pet to a nearby vet or shelter, you can have the animal scanned for a chip.

If the animal has no ID tags, no microchip, and you’ve checked around the neighborhood, or if you are looking for YOUR lost pet, please do the following:

1. Check the listings on Lost/Stray Pets housed at Boyle County Animal Control/DBCHS at https://www.facebook.com/DBCHSlostpets

2. Call Boyle County Animal Control at 859.238.1117 to file a lost or found report, and send an email to lostpet40422@gmail.com with:

• Your name, address, and phone number

• The pet’s name, a photo, and description

• The date you lost or noticed your pet was missing or the date and place you found the pet
