Mary Frances Stevens, 97

Mary Frances Stevens, 97, died April 24, 2022, in Danville, Kentucky. Born August 18, 1924, in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Jesse James “Jess” and Mary Adeline “Susie” Schlachter Cannon. Mary was the oldest member of the Alum Springs First Church of God, also a member of EMRMC Auxilliary and Boyle County Homemaker Club of Junction City. She was a homemaker, loving and taking care of her family. Mary had a spirit of kindness, a caregiver’s heart always caring for others. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, jewelry making and gardening. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, of 34 years, Eugene “Gene” Stevens; sons, Rev. Arnold Ray Stevens and Rev. Stanley Wayne Stevens; siblings, Bill, Joe, Ernest and Riley Cannon, Margie Bodner Jarvis; daughter-in-law, Brenda Stevens
Mary is survived by her children, Larry Eugene Stevens of Junction City, Garry Franklin Stevens (Connie) of Danville; sisters, Earlene Kidd of Clarksville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Wanda Welch (Marvin), Tharen Stevens (Teresa), Mary Stevens, Shawn Stevens (Heather), Steve Stevens (Lela), Carol Mesman (Michael), Jeremy Stevens (Becky), David Stevens (Danielle), Jessica Coffey (Benji); 17 great grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren; daughter in laws, Ann Stevens Belcher and Sharon Stevens and many cousins, nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
The funeral service will be 12pm, Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City. Rev. JR Fields will officiate. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shawn Stevens, Jeremy Stevens, Tharen Stevens, Nathan Stevens, Steve Stevens and David Stevens. Visitation will be 4pm – 6pm, Friday, April 29, 2022 at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City. Memorial donations are suggested to Alum Springs Church of God.
