Two Danville community choirs will start rehearsing for the fall season. Both welcome new members, high school age and up, who have an interest and some experience singing even if long ago. Sounding Joy Women’s Choir will accept new members through Sept. 15. They rehearse every Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in room 114 (Gillespie Recital Hall) in the basement of the Norton Center. The Resonance Men’s Choir is accepting new members through Sept. 19. They rehearse from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at First Christian Church in the choir room at the back of the building. The church is located at 555 E. Lexington Ave. in Danville. Attending one rehearsal does not commit any singer to singing the whole term. There is a modest fee to cover costs of music and accompanying musicians.
