Photographs are courtesy of Ronnie Logue. Our featured pets for this week are RC Jr. and Shyla.
RC Jr. is a very handsome 6-month-old kitty. He is the solid gray color of the Russian Blue breed of cat. RC Jr. got his name because he looks just like a young version of our long-time humane society cat named RC. Anyone who has visited the humane society has probably met RC. He is usually on the water fountain waiting for visitors to give him a drink. RC Jr. has a great temperament and he has all the potential to have his namesake’s wonderful personality!
Shyla is a pretty 7-month-old mixed breed pup. She probably has a lot of hound in her background. Shyla has a shiny black coat with lots of white markings and plenty of black ticking or freckles on the white areas. Shyla did not have the advantage of a lot of one on one attention as a younger puppy and she is a little bashful. But she is very sweet and loving. Once she finds her special home she will benefit from consistent handling and training to help her gain confidence. Come for a visit and see if you’d like to have Shyla as your new best friend!
This Saturday at 12:30 p.m. is our monthly DBCHS obedience class. The class is held inside the service department at the Stuart Powell Ford Dealership on the U.S. 127 Danville Bypass. The class is free for those who have adopted from a shelter or rescue. Others are welcome to attend for a small donation to the humane society. If you would like to attend please pre-register for the class by emailing dbchs@bellsouth.net or you may call the humane society at (859) 238-1117. Space is limited so please sign up by Friday at noon. We hope to see you on Saturday!
Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
