Danville’s Christmas parade on Saturday brought hundreds to Main Street to see the colorful floats.

The parade was the longest, or one of the longest, in its history, lasting a full hour. People from local businesses, organizations and schools went all out decorating their floats. Some notable floats included giant inflatable Christmas characters, gingerbread and snowmen; a gigantic covered wagon by LockRidge Park; and Kentucky School for the Deaf, which is celebrating its 200th anniversary, recreated a school scene from its history.

Winners of the float contest are as follows:

Best Non- float – $100: Tranquil Hill Farm,

Best Float – $200: Brandon Edward’s Owner Frazzell Guitars,

Judge’s choice – $100: Pinkston Electric’s “Candy Cane Lane”
