On Wednesday, Jan. 25, Centre College students, along with Associate Professor of Economics and Business Patten Mahler, are hosting an event to present student research and findings detailing how a mixed delivery model of early childhood education provides a sustainable template that best serves Kentucky’s families and businesses while laying the foundation for children’s long-term success by starting kindergarten ready to learn. Students, local stakeholders, state officials and others will be available for interviews during the event.
Gov. Andy Beshear reaffirmed his commitment to push for universal pre-K in Kentucky during his December announcement of a $36 million federal grant to fund statewide initiatives.
Centre College students will offer a presentation and lead a discussion with local and state stakeholders, including Rep. Josie Raymond; Sarah Vanover, Policy & Research Director for Kentucky Youth Advocates; and Terry Tolan, consultant for the Center for Nonprofit Excellence in Louisville.
When: 10:30 a.m. to noon on Jan. 25.
Where: CentreWorks, 236 West Main Street, Suite 300, Danville. (Please use the Third Street Entrance.)
