Zola

Our pets of the week are Zola and Lucky, two gorgeous pups looking for new homes.

Zola is a six-month-old mixed breed puppy with enormous perky ears. After you take note of her beautiful markings (and those ears!), you’ll see that Zola is eager to meet new people. Her exuberant personality jumps out at you, and you’ll definitely want to know more.

Zola was adopted and returned through no fault of her own; she is a lot of puppy in a small package!

According to her original owner, Zola gets along well with other animals and people, but she is a little skittish at first so a meet and greet with resident dogs is required. She is fixed, microchipped, vaccinated, and looking for a home that can offer patience and consistency. She will also benefit from basic behavior training. Once Zola has learned boundaries, she will make a fun-loving companion for an active person or family.

If you are interested in adopting Zola, please bring your family for a meet and greet Monday – Friday between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Before coming out, give us a call to ensure she’s still available and complete an online application to save time: https://bit.ly/2Qo4EfE. Can’t make it to the shelter during open hours? Email me at karikuh@dbchs.org to make an appointment.

Lucky

What’s more rewarding than saving a shelter pet’s life? How about saving a pet from ever going to the shelter in the first place?! With DBCHS’s Home To Home™ direct placement adoption site, dogs and cats go from one caring home into their new loving homes without having to stay in a kennel or cage at the shelter. DBCHS helped people find homes for more than 125 cats and dogs through Home To Home last year!

Lucky is one of our Home To Home dogs looking for a fresh start. According to his current owner, this handsome mixed-breed one-year-old pup is a “loving dog that needs more attention than what we can give” who gets along with kids and people of all ages. Let’s help Lucky avoid a stressful trip to the shelter: visit his pet profile on Home To Home at https://home-home.org/pet/256648/lucky to directly contact his owner about adoption.

Reminder about DBCHS’s Community Cat Program: If you or someone you know is feeding outdoor cats in Boyle County, we can get them spayed/neutered and vaccinated at no cost to you! Email us at dbchs@bellsouth.net to make an appointment.

Last year we fixed nearly 450 outdoor cats through the Community Cat Program; let’s do it again in 2022! Together we’ll reach beyond shelter walls and save more lives.
