Man charged with DUI after rear-ending parked vehicle

On Saturday September 24 at 12:32 a.m. Danville Police responded to the area of S. 4th Street at Bricks and Brews for a disturbance and vehicle accident. Upon arrival officers conducted an investigation. A dispute occurred in the drive through lane of PNC bank over a vehicle that was blocked in. The operator of one of the vehicles was identified as Daniel Stratton. Stratton put his vehicle in drive and intentionally rear ended the vehicle parked in front of him. Stratton exited his vehicle and a verbal dispute escalated. At this point a physical confrontation occurred but ended just prior to police arrival. Stratton, 42, of Junction City was arrested on scene and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence and criminal mischief 2nd degree. The altercation and assault are still under investigation.
While still investigating the original call officers learned that another individual identified as Kelsey Lanham, 29, of Parksville had driven Stratton’s vehicle and parked it at Speedway. Lanham returned to the scene and was interviewed by officers. Lanham was taken into custody and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence 2nd offense, leaving the scene of an accident, operating a vehicle with a DUI suspended license and tampering with physical evidence.
